Untrustworthy Bronson changes requirements for library director position

An online job posting for the library director position appeared today, over a month after social media racist and anti-LGBT stalwart Judy Eledge resigned from the role. Unfortunately for Anchorage residents, Eledge remains in the employ of the library and, according to a comment made by Assembly Member Christopher Constant at the most recent Anchorage Assembly meeting, has been said to be removing books she doesn't like from library shelves.

Bronson, who is no friend of the LGBTQ community and spoke at a far-right organization's event on November 15, appointed Eledge as library director after the Anchorage assembly refused to confirm his equally unqualified appointee Sami Graham. Members of the pro-Bronson Save Anchorage political operation and the radical-right Anchorage Parents' Rights in Education organization both advocated for Graham and Eledge's appointments, hoping they would rid the public library of drag queen story hour and LGBT books.

An online job description for the library director position had previously stated that for an individual to be considered, they must possess the following:

"A Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited college or university and seven (7) years of professional library experience, of which three (3) years were in an administrative capacity in a moderate to large library system. Experience must include development, implementation, and maintenance of library programs and services, building
collections and providing service to multicultural communities."

All of that has changed as today's posted job listing modifies the educational requirements, which now states an individual must possess the following:

"A masters in library science, education, or related or closely related discipline and ten (10) years of professional supervisory experience that includes managing staff, development, budget administration, implementation maintenance of library programs and services, building collections, and providing service to multicultural communities; and/or equivalent experience in a related field."

Mouthpiece for David Bronson, Corey Allen Young, said last month that the mayor's office would conduct a "worldwide search" to find a new director.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Mayor Bronson was looking to fill the library director position with a social media racist and anti-LGBT demagogue from outside the state or closer to home.
