Today: Anchorage Assembly Special Meeting on Emergency Proclamation

Today: Anchorage Assembly Special Meeting on Emergency Proclamation

The Anchorage Assembly will hold an Emergency Special Meeting today at 1pm in the Mayor's Conference room. The meeting is being held at the request of Anchorage Mayor David Bronson, who is seeking an extension of the emergency proclamation, which he issued on Saturday, March 26 in response to the avalanche.

If the proclamation is not extended, it will expire Wednesday evening per Anchorage Municipal Code.

If passed, an extension of the emergency proclamation would enable the administration to continue to direct additional staff and resources to the avalanche response, access FEMA and state disaster recovery funds, suspend procurement rules in relation to avalanche response expenses, and issue additional mandates for the affected area.

The meeting will be streamed on the Assembly YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZDEuWj4IxdlwBhqrk62_XA and can be joined telephonically at (907) 273-5190, Participant Code  721227#.

The agenda is posted at https://meetings.muni.org/AgendaOnline/Meetings/ViewMeeting?id=4661&doctype=1.
