A moderator of the far-right Anchorage-based Save Anchorage group accused East Anchorage Assemblyman Forrest Dunbar of “rallying his troops” this afternoon after posting a photograph of a flyer against David Bronson’s proposed mass homeless shelter.
Allard straight up told the Treasury Department official she believed the Berkowitz Administration was committing “fraud, waste, and abuse” as the administration moved to utilize Covid Relief Funds (CRF) to help Anchorage’s most vulnerable in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
Many individuals who seek shelter often do so to escape unsafe situations, such as victims of domestic violence, and Boyle says it’s important to recognize the reality that “People aren’t homogenous in their need for shelter.”
The incoming Bronson administration’s plan to put 1,000 homeless human beings into a temporary shelter will be unveiled on June 15, 2021, at 11 am during a Special Committee Meeting on Housing and Homelessness.
