Rep. Jamie Allard's Dangerous Game: Amplifying Extremism Against ASD

State House Co-Chair of Education, Rep. Jamie Allard (Q) - Eagle River, spent years grooming her far-right 'Save Anchorage' cult members with misinformation—often selfishly using them for her own political gain and to wage war against her political enemies, although with very little success.

In between the occasions when the FBI and Anchorage Police Department had arrested several members of the group for crimes ranging from child pornography, sexual assault, storming the Capitol, and felony stalking—other members spent time openly threatening members of the Anchorage Assembly and encouraging people to storm the Assembly Chambers with automatic weapons and take it by force.

In November 2020, Assembly Chair Suzanne LaFrance, now a candidate for Anchorage mayor, spoke about the death threats that members of the Assembly received from the group. ⬇️

The 'member of this body' to whom LaFrance said in her comments belonged to and promoted the group was Jamie Allard, a sitting Anchorage Assembly person at the time.

With 'Save Anchorage' now defunct, Allard has moved on to promoting another right-wing social media account, which in many ways is far worse than one could ever have imagined Save Anchorage to be.

Libs of TikTok is a deranged far-right anti-LGBTQ extremist account run by Chaya Raichik, whose social media posts have been linked to threats of violence against teachers, hospitals, and school districts that have received wave after wave of bomb threats after being deliberately targeted by Raichik.

As USA Today National Correspondent Will Carless wrote so succinctly, when Libs of TikTok tweets, threats increasingly follow.

Libs of TikTok baselessly vilify LGBT people, their allies, and educators as "groomers," a right-wing slur associated with the LGBT grooming conspiracy theory, which was quickly adopted and normalized by right-wing radicalized smooth brains in the wake of Florida's discriminatory don't say gay bills. The slur is defined as someone who identifies and exploits vulnerabilities in a child or young adult in order to build trust and gain access to them for the purposes of sexual abuse.

Conservatives' use of children as body shields in their war to destroy public education, ban books, erase LGBT people, and entrench innocent education professionals in internet search engines forever as pedophiles and child abusers seems a pretty sick ploy to me, but hey, that's the new nature of extremism that the deranged orange indicted former president has helped to impart on our country.

Yesterday, in what was a coordinated, targeted attack on the Anchorage School District (ASD), Allard shared a tweet from Libs of TikTok on her Facebook account. Libs of TikTok tagged ASD's 'X' account and included an image from the school library book 'Wait, What?' described as giving readers a good basis and an age-appropriate start with sex, bodies, and relationships.

Allard, who often has difficulty spelling and may need to go back to 'skool' (see 'prosted' above), claims that the image included in Libs of TikTok's tweet is so bad (obscene) that it couldn't be shared on Facebook. (I put the image on Facebook eight times to no ill effect). 🤷‍♀️

But the worst part of Allard's post is that she once again called all teachers the evil slur groomers.

'Wait, what?' She's done it before? Yes indeed.

In September, on the Mike Porcaro show, Allard denied ever calling teachers groomers. But then, I produced the receipts that proved she was either lying through her teeth or had 'forgotten.' ⬇️

Now that you've seen and heard her use the word at least three times to vilify educators, please let me know when it's acceptable to call her a liar intentionally attempting to rain right-wing extremism down on their heads.

In her Facebook post directing people to the social media account known for inciting threats of violence, Allard championed the school district "going national." She must be immensely proud that the names of ASD education professionals, as well as school telephone numbers, also went national, having been plastered in responses to the tweet by right-wing nutjobs and cancel culturalists oddly obsessed by what other people's children are reading.

Anchorage resident Dawn Bockelman, who is Facebook friends with Allard and local activist Jay McDonald, shared a similar sentiment. McDonald said in August that Mayor Bronson told him he was too controversial to serve on the Anchorage Library Advisory Board. #LineintheSand, apparently.

The post was made to the Facebook group belonging to the anti-government organization Alaska Parents' Rights in Education, which believes LGBT advocates “groom preschool children at libraries” and that LGBTQ militant activism is fostered in public and school libraries.

The last time ASD went 'national' was in February when McDonald, an apparent former Allard staffer, spread misinformation steeped in anti-LGBTQ conspiracy theories about the book 'Let's Talk About It' during a February meeting of the Anchorage School Board. The result was Board members receiving death threats from 'hostile and unwell' individuals who circle-jerked over McDonald's confabulations about the book after Faux News published a wildly inaccurate 'article' about the board meeting. Perhaps not so coincidentally, the Anchorage Police Department investigated false bomb threats that were made against the school district the same day Faux ran its piece.

Allard accusing teachers of being sexual predators and abusers tracks—she's been fanning the flames of LGBT hate for years.

• In 2021, she attacked the transgender community, claiming on a radio show that all transgender people are mentally ill.
• In 2022, Allard launched an attack on the Anchorage Public Library, asking her legion of 8,900+ 'Save Anchorage' cult followers to mass email anti-LGBT demagogue Mayor Dave Bronson and former acting public library director/social media racist Judy Eledge to pressure them into hiding a gender identity book.
• In April, after voters were dumb enough to elect her to the state House, Allard attacked the Anchorage School District in an attempt to manufacture outrage by falsely claiming in a House Judiciary Committee meeting that there were pornographic books in the district's school libraries. ⬇️

Allard has also, not so surprisingly, thrown her support behind the extremist organization Moms for Liberty (M4L). Individuals will meet on Saturday (just in time for the election cycle) to discuss the feasibility of launching an Anchorage chapter. The organization has been linked to extremist elements, including QAnon, Proud Boys, Christian nationalists, sovereign citizens, and other such right-wing riffraff.

M4L's members have threatened school officials across the country. In at least one instance, a school district in California became so fed up with the lunacy that they filed a temporary restraining order against the chair of Yolo County Moms for Liberty in an attempt to halt her "repeated targeting" of teachers.

Allard is playing a dangerously sick game with her right-wing rhetoric targeting educators, similar to when she posted a constituent's email on her personal Facebook account, resulting in the doxing and harassment of the constituent at her workplace.

Alaska is the only state in the country that does not offer new teachers or paraprofessionals full social security benefits or a pension. You might think that as an elected official, Allard would want to focus on improving public education since she bitches about it all the goddamn time, but you would be wrong.

As a far-right politician, Allard is interested only in playing politics. Now that Save Anchorage is, for all intents and purposes, in shambles and thus ill-suited for her own selfish needs, she has moved on to the next thing in an effort to stay edgy and relevant with the next election cycle conveniently around the corner.

Only this time around, it's not healthcare professionals, election workers, or Forrest Dunbar she's attacking; it's our educators. Educators who have seen their names and faces irresponsibly posted on right-wing blogs as part of a harassment campaign intended to smear their reputations and bully them into submitting to the far-right's will.
