Government produces records specific to former Save Anchorage member/Wasilla resident Aaron J. Mileur

In March, Aaron J. Mileur of Wasilla, Alaska, was arrested for his alleged role in the January 6, 2021, armed insurrection. Until news of his arrest broke, Mileur had been an active Save Anchorage member.
According to the Statement of Facts filed by a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation last year, Mileur had entered the Capitol with the intent of disrupting Congressional business.
The Statement of Facts also noted that a video recorded from inside the United States Capitol Building was posted to Mileur’s Facebook account and the “Save Anchorage” Facebook group.
“A secondary complainant submitted a tip to the FBI National Threat Operations Center (NTOC) with a video posted on Facebook by Mileur. The video was posted to Mileur’s Facebook account as well as to the Facebook group called “Save Anchorage.” The video does not depict Mileur however, the video was recorded from inside the United States Capitol building.”
FBI Statement of Facts
A new joint status report filed in December states that the United States has produced a set of records that are "specific" to Mileur, which included more reports of investigation, social media, additional video evidence, and other materials.
The government also stated that it produced targeted discovery relevant to the investigation to Mileur’s counsel on April 20, 2021, and May 12, 2021, which the government says included reports of interviews and other evidence collected in relation to the investigation of Mileur.
A status conference in Mileur's case has been scheduled for February 9 where it is expected the parties will inform the court whether a trial date should be set, or whether Mileur's defense will require additional time to prepare the case for trial or come to a negotiated resolution.
Posts made to Mileur's Facebook account prior to his arrest appear to suggest that he may have been a believer in the dangerous QAnon conspiracy theory. In one such February 9, 2021, post made to Mileur's now-deleted Facebook account, it stated that 17 was the number of Q and that "many Q posts have been proven true."
Mileur's name also appears in the online 'Insurrection Index' alongside Alaska State Rep. David Eastman. The index aims to identify everyone who backed former president Donald Trump in his effort to hold onto power despite losing the election, hoping to hold them accountable and prevent future harm to the country’s democratic foundation.
