Far-right Save Anchorage backed candidates to speak at radical right-wing celebration with Mayor David Bronson in tow

Stephanie Taylor, a Save Anchorage member-turned-radical Anchorage Assembly candidate, and Mark Anthony Cox, an anti-mask, biblical values-based school board candidate, are slated to attend a November 15 event at the Loussac Library hosted by the far-right Alaska Parents' Rights in Education (APRE) organization.
Anchorage Mayor David Bronson is scheduled to speak at the event.
APRE is a Chapter of Parents’ Rights In Education (PRIE), a 501(c)(3) located in Hillsboro, Oregon, and whose Principal Officer is listed as Suzanne Gallagher. Gallagher is a former Chairwoman of the Oregon Republican Party who resigned ahead of a vote to recall her from office by fellow party members who charged that she had mismanaged the organization and misallocated party resources.
PRIE claims anti-racism curriculum is racist and must not be taught in schools and opposes the K-12 Public Schools Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) curriculum, which they say is “designed to challenge or change traditional sexual and gender norms of society.” The organization claims it is not against the LGBTQ community in "any way, shape, or form" but says it is “concerned with the out-of-balance representation of LGBTQ ideology.” They also take aim at the National Education Association and their affiliates for being “highly involved in promoting one brand of political activism in K-12 public schools.”
PRIE also alleges on its website that LGBTQ+ advocates "groom preschool children at libraries." The organization claims that LGBT militant activism is fostered in both public schools and libraries.
It's no wonder then that the far-right organization has an entire section on its website dedicated to the horrors of Drag Queen Story Hour, and it's even more confounding (not really) that social media superstar and acting director of the Anchorage Public Library Judy Eledge, who has espoused some horrifying anti-LGBT sentiments, has posted to the group.
The local APRE Facebook group is managed by Suzanne Gallagher herself, in addition to three other individuals — two of which are members of the pro-Bronson Save Anchorage Facebook group. Former APRE group administrator Annie Massey, who managed the organization's Facebook group for a lengthy period, is no longer doing so, having recently moved to Utah.
Notable members of APRE include Judy Eledge, Anchorage Assembly member Jamie Allard, Alaska GOP operative and part-time faux Star of David Crafter Christine Hill, Chief of Staff for Senator Holland Nikki Rose, and the Facebook page of Tuckerman Babcock.
It's not clear what attendees of the event will be celebrating. The event's description only encourages individuals to celebrate the "amazing role that parents play" in the lives of students and the community.
Note: On April 3, 2023, I updated the links to the Parents' Rights in Education after the organization scrubbed its website of references about LGBT militant activism and drag queen story hour. The links now direct to a cached version of the organization's website.
