Dunbar files for re-election

In a tweet, East Anchorage Assembly member Forrest Dunbar announced that he had filed his Declaration of Candidacy with the Clerk’s Office earlier this morning and is officially running for re-election.

“Thank you again to all my tremendous supporters and to the people who encouraged me to continue working and fighting for East Anchorage,” Dunbar wrote.

Dunbar is defending his Assembly seat from challenger Stephanie Taylor, a longtime Save Anchorage member turned right-wing radical whose gross unpopularity has led her to enlist services from outside Alaska in a hail-mary bid to oust Dunbar. The sneaky right-wing out-of-state political consulting firm and its political operatives will pull out all the stops to ensure he isn’t re-elected to the Assembly.

Dunbar is a strong advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and equality, prioritizes fiscal responsibility and a balanced budget, is pro-choice, spoke out against the Capitol riots, and is a proponent of treatment and permanent supportive housing for Anchorage’s homeless population.

You can learn more about Dunbar on his campaign website and find him on both Facebook and Twitter.
