DOGE-Alaska: Now Accepting Conspiracy Theories as Legal Tender

If you had any notion that DOGE Alaska would serve as a legitimate watchdog, think again because it's abundantly clear that they are headed down the well-worn path of fear-mongering, disinformation, and manufactured outrage.

DOGE-Alaska: Now Accepting Conspiracy Theories as Legal Tender

Following in the footsteps of every far-right Alaska-centric social media account ever, Representative Jamie Allard's newly concocted DOGE Alaska has charted a most expected course. A recent DOGE Alaska repost from notorious misinformation peddler and anti-government conspiracy theorist Alex Jones suggests the group is less concerned with identifying "fraud, waste, and abuse" and more invested in promoting the kind of unhinged paranoia that has long been a staple of Alaska’s far-right echo chamber.

Jones, if you did not know—is best known for peddling lies about mass shootings, deep-state cabals, and shadowy global conspiracies. He was slapped with a staggering $1.4 billion in defamation judgments after relentlessly spreading false claims that the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was a hoax. The related lawsuits, brought by the victims' families, held Jones accountable for years of harassment and threats they endured as a result of his lies—forcing him into bankruptcy and permanently tarnishing his already infamous reputation.

Noteworthy is that many of DOGE Alaska's founding members, including disgraced former State Board of Education Member and failed local school board candidate Bob Griffin, are sworn enemies of public education. Griffin, for example, possesses an innate ability to cherry-pick, omit, and manipulate education data in, let's just say...less than ethical ways—making him a perfect fit for his newly minted role as one of Jamie Allard's co-confabulators.

Pair all of the above with DOGE Alaska’s loud support for gutting public education—cheering on Orange Furby’s push to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education and hand funding to states so they can slash support for kids, families, and teachers. It’s a dream scenario if your goal is churning out the next wave of anti-government extremists while turning schools into Christian nationalist indoctrination factories that erase marginalized communities.

I don’t know who’s running DOGE Alaska’s X account, but retweeting Alex Jones—a man who harassed and tormented the families of children murdered at Sandy Hook—is a choice. Jones spread vile lies, profited off their pain, and put grieving parents through hell. If DOGE Alaska wants to align itself with someone who made life worse for families devastated by gun violence, well...that tells us everything we need to know about what they stand for.

If you had any notion that DOGE Alaska would serve as a legitimate watchdog, think again because it's abundantly clear that they are headed down the well-worn path of fear-mongering, disinformation, and manufactured outrage.

Believe you me—Jamie Allard wouldn't have it any other way.
