Assembly Funds Mobile Mental Health Crisis Team

In a press release yesterday, Assembly Members Meg Zaletel, Forrest Dunbar, and Christopher Constant announced the funding of a mental health mobile crisis team was set to be activated in 2021. The new program utilizes revenues generated by the newly adopted alcohol tax.

The Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) is described as a "specialized first responder asset serving Anchorage residents in crises."

Assembly Member Zaletel says that the MCT "will help relieve the Anchorage Police Department from the burden of responding to so many calls when the need (of residents) is actually for a clinician and someone trained to stabilize the situation from a behavioral health point of view."
