Anchorage Assembly Leadership sends records and retention request to Bronson administration

Anchorage Assembly Leadership sent a records and retention request today asking Director Dahl and Municipal Attorney Bergt for emails, documents and other material related to allegations published by the Alaska Landmine yesterday. The Assembly's leadership wrote in their request to the Bronson Administration that if the allegations panned out to be true, they would be of "significant public concern and interest."
According to the letter, Assembly Leadership is seeking Material related to:
- Any email, text message, voice message, or other Material referring to the presence of Anchorage Police Department personnel at the Oct. 7, 2021 meeting of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly; and any directive or request that, or discussion about whether, any officer of the Anchorage Police Department should leave or be present in Assembly Chambers during the pendency of the October 7, 2021 meeting.
- Any email, text message, voice message, or other Material referring to Mayor Bronson and fluoridation of water provided by the Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility, including any and all Material that may: (a) describe Mayor Bronson affecting a fluoridation system, or (b) reflect whether Mayor Bronson made statements during a tour of an AWWU facility related to fluoride or the fluoridation of water provided by AWWU.
- Any email, text message, voice message, or other Material referring to: (a) Dan O’Barr; or (b) any directive originating from the Mayor or Municipal Manager’s office, or discussion about whether to issue a directive, that the Anchorage Police Department should send officers to a hospital and make contact with a specific patient.
Assembly Leadership told the Bronson Administration in their letter that they were specifically requesting the production of emails related to Dan O'Barr ahead of the next meeting of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 6 pm.
The records and retention request was sent in response to an article published yesterday by the Alaska Landmine that raised allegations Anchorage Police Chief McCoy may have announced his resignation in response to a series of improper demands made by Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson and Municipal Manager Amy Demboski as well as other issues.
