Alaska's role in a clean future — an event

Velocity AK will hold a pub-i-nar conversation about opportunities, barriers and Alaska's role in a clean energy future Thursday, March 17 from 2-4 pm at Williwaw Social.

Panelists for the event will share their thoughts in three segments: Opportunities for clean energy; Barriers to clean energy; and Alaska's role in a clean energy future.

Speakers include:

  • Sustainability scientist and climate communicator Alaina Wood
  • Research Assistant Professor of Economics at the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER) at the University of Alaska, Anchorage Brett Watson, whose work focuses on how natural resource wealth is created, managed, and distributed both nationally and in the state of Alaska.
  • Maria Suarez, Director of Government Affairs, Energy Workforce & Technology Council
  • Nick Szymoniak, Manager of New Business Ventures for the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC), who has previously led efforts to develop Alaska natural gas projects while at the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority and ENSTAR.
