Alaskans for Children's Right to Breathe returns donations. Fails to find lawyer to take up ASD mask fight.

Last summer, individuals associated with the far-right social media groups Open Alaska and Save Anchorage, launched a statewide legal fund to fight the Anchorage School District over its mandated masking policy for students.

Eagle River Assembly member Jamie Allard promoted the effort on the Facebook group Alaskans for Children's Right to Breathe which quickly became another online space for individuals to share misinformation about COVID-19 and mask-wearing.

Last Thursday one of the group's administrators, Elizabeth Welsh, posted to the group writing that although they raised more than $15,000 for the asinine lawsuit, they were unable to find a lawyer who would or could take the case.

"At this time, all funds have been returned to donors," Welsh wrote.

According to Welsh, Alaskans for Parents' Right to Breathe will be "unpublished" this Thursday. Take note of the word "unpublished" and the non-use of the word deleted.

Should we wind up with the Zombie variant of COVID in the future, and people are eating one another alive in the streets, we could see the group rear its ugly head again and fight to keep the faces of zombies and children free of those pesky masks.

The group has already been set to private before its expected shutdown.

It wasn't immediately clear whether a comment made to the group today would be acted upon, much less taken seriously.
